Argentina evacuating

Three days ago, arrived here the cargo plane seen at the left ([pic of the evacuation of Kabul). Innocently, I thought they are sending us weapons. In fact, they are quietly airlifting American citizens from Israel at war. Argentina is also sending planes to evacuate its citizens, and Hungary and several European countries are doing the same. The picture, as seen from their peaceful homes afar, must be terrifying. As for us, it not terrifying yet, military age men and women are being conscripted, and the youngest sister of a friend (a tatzpitanit) was assassinated by terrorists. There is no bottled water in the supermarket. I have no knowledge of what is going on, because the internet is self-censured or censured, except for the daily report on the number of soldiers killed. I have been working hard on the SPAR supermarket project till 1 AM today.   

The Bank of Israel defends the shekel

The BoI announced that is selling US dollars to the limit of 30 billion. It means that the local currency is under attack by speculators. They will not succeed. 

The country is emerging from the shock that the frontier was undefended, and the frontier villages were open. Kibbutz Beeri (Beeri was the pen name of Berl Katzenelson, a leftist Zionist) not only was open and hosting vacationing visitors. Its neighbor, Kibbutz Re'em was holding a big trance all-night party. The revelers were caught at 6 AM drugged and tired when attacked but some were able to run to the nearby trees. 240 of them were killed on the spot. A massacre. One "militant" who was taken prisoner explained that they had prepared this surprise attack for a year, and were ready to fight ZAHAL, but it only appeared after 5 hours.

They took more than two hundred hostages. The mother of the girl in the pic identified her as Shani Luk, 30, a German tourist. They brutally assassinated unarmed 600 civilians. I think this means the end of HAMAS. Probably other enemy forces too. We need fifty more years of tranquility. Tomorrow and after we may not be nice. To Understand the Universe

Elon Musk has founded a company with the mission of understanding the universe. Given the fantastic success of Musk in former enterprises, he must be taken very seriously. His approach is through IA, i.e. mechanical reasoning power, jumping over the thousands of physicists, astronomers, etc. that are investigating physical reality. And he intends to make money. 

In the Athenian play "The Birds" it is explained that Chaos with the help of Eros married Night, starting all. Genesis posits God saying "Let It Be" and it was. I have to digest the idea before commenting.

Potassium Prices Crash

The current crash is hurting me. 

As ICL operates in a cyclical industry, much of its value comes from the movement of commodity prices. As commodity prices will come down with easing inflation, ICL's selling prices will also come down but will get offset by higher volume. Therefore, the net effect on value will depend on an increase in volume against the price decrease.

Due to uncertain macroeconomic conditions and supply chain disruptions, the company's growth will halt in 2023 after spectacular 2021 and 2022. However, the company has a good product mix and has invested in new facilities for growth.

Venezuela Man-Eaters

 Venezuela sits on the largest reservoir of oil, larger than Saudi Arabia. There were a few years when the streets were full of hundred-dollar bills and needed to get out of Buenos Aires. Caracas was booming and even secretaries were so well paid that they went to breakfast in Miami. I went to the Venezuelan consulate to get a visa, but there were so many people waiting that I gave up. Then Chavez mismanaged the economy and soon there was no food, and the population went hungry. Being such a large and fertile country, that was incredible. But the fact was that Venezuela had no agriculture, they were buying all the food from the USA. These days millions of Venezuelans are walking through the Darien jungles to enter the USA. Biden agreed to receive 2 million of them. These are people that succeeded in almost dying of hunger in a real paradise. They are about 50% Indian, that is, mestizos from an especially bloody kind of natives, the Caribbean anthropophagi Yanomami (pic) and other hyper-violent Orinoco basin tribes.  Up to half of all Yanomami males die violent deaths in the constant conflict.  It would be needless to remark the ferociousness of the Spanish conquistadores and Canarian settler contribution.
