Disappointment

 

The market expects ICL Group (ICL) to deliver a year-over-year decline in earnings on lower revenues when it reports results for the quarter ended March 2023. The earnings report is expected on May 10, 2023, and might help the stock move higher if these key numbers are better than expectations. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move even lower.

The fact is that today Saturday the stock is sinking. The AI that manages most big funds thinks that ICL will be almost worthless. I am shocked by reality, I had FAITH in POTASH. Where is Mr Doyle who organized the potash cartel years ago?

Potash market getting used to the war

 

 

ICL hereby announces that it has signed a contract with its long-term customer, Indian Potash Limited (IPL), India’s largest importer of potash, for potash shipments through September 2023, at a price of $422 per ton CIFFO Indian ports, with similar quantities as in the 2022 contract with IPL, for the respective period.

 

    The Israeli Potash mining company's shares are 20% of my portfolio. The current price is LOWER than the average purchasing price, so I am losing in real terms some 30-40%. Hope the potash market is resuscitating, although the price 422 $ is nothing to be happy about. Last year it was 750 $.

The market is being mismanaged and I am losing money. 

 

Company Registration: Where?

A young relative is creating a start-up in the electronic money universe and they had already received investment money. He asked me where to register the start-up. I have no idea. Friedman established his bank in the Bahamas, so there must be a reason for that. Many prefer Cyprus, which is 30 minutes fly from Tel Aviv and is reachable also by a small boat. Israel is AAA+++ but the large protests against Netanyahu may discredit the country.  My seventy years of experience says that those who bet on Israel were rewarded, and those of little faith, who put their money on Venezuela, Argentina, Rhodesia, South Africa, and other goyish countries, lost very badly.  

Interest rate and other pains

I am paying 7% on a bank loan. The highest ever, I think. 

The Taxman took money from my account, without giving me an advance notice. It depressed me and I am thinking of closing the shop and stop working. I never planned to work till age 77, but here I am and what else is to do? People volunteer, not me. Some spend time in the club, but I prefer to hoard money and help my hardworking daughters. Traveling - did enough for one and a half lives. Sex - remind me what it was about.

Russia and China's aggressiveness has triggered a worldwide re-armament movement. Kissinger's Westphalian World Order is being shaken and a shooting war may be around the corner. 

 

Counter-Demonstration

 

After eight weeks of leftist demonstrations, the right took over the public space. That's Jerusalem now.  

As always, I am undecided. For one, the self-elected Supreme Court protects effectively our international legality and democratic image. On the other hand, it tries to impose utopic humanitarian behavior on a community under daily, no, hourly terrorist attacks.

 In 1980 Israel's gdp per person was about half of Germany’s; now it is 12% higher.

Amazing! The Soviet Jews who were left out with a visa for Israel but choose Germany... lost. Leaving Judaism means surely declassing. I learned that in Argentina. 

In my adolescence, I used to spend whole days reading the latest Economist, missing out on classes, and not studying. 

What did I learn today? That the world is already in a recession cycle, as Ray Dalio's book says. I have bought his book but it is so large that it cannot be read in the bed but has to be rested on a table, like the Tanach, so I just skipped around.
