Amadeus - Don Giovanni Scene

Scandinavian leadership

TEVA's new Danish manager is sacking 14000 employees. The man has testicles, leadership qualities. Goldman Sachs raised its rating to buy from neutral: "TEVA has turned a corner with its announced $3bn of cost cuts by 2019 " analyst Jami Rubin wrote in a note to clients Friday. "While we acknowledge there is skepticism on the path forward … we believe we are in the early innings of a credible turnaround led by a competent management team."

Maybe I shall recoup my considerable TEVA losses.

Waiting for AVA

I work on Autocad and having experienced Artificial Intelligence assistants in Google, Yahoo and Ali Express, I am waiting impatiently for a similar assistant in CAD engineering design machine. I am getting older and slower and make more mistakes, I would welcome assistance. Already "she" has a name - AVA , like Ava Gardner - and a face (friendly but utterly stupid. I don't like her. I'd prefer an Ashkenazi looking girl or even an old engineer master guru like the one at the beginning). Apart from her mulatto face, she has nothing else. Those idiots on Soul Machines doesn't know that no one wants to watch black girls - not in porn nor in CAD assistant role. I wonder why most financial announcers on TV are colored, they perorate financial babble with astonishing self-confidence, except that in real life no investor would let them to operate even cash register.

"AVA is also something of an intercorporate conglomeration, powered by IBM Watson’s cognitive platform and Soul Machines’ patented Human Computing Engine (HCE), with design information processed by Autodesk software. The Soul Machines HCE is a “virtual nervous system” that uses neural networks in combination with other biologically inspired models of the human brain." Who cares? Make her work.

The Saudi Dictator

Chateau Louis XIV in Louveciennes, near Paris, was recently bought by Crown Prince Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

Other 500 million dollar investments of the Saudi ruler are the largest yacht in the world, and an unique Leonardo de Vinci painting.

Bin Salman is considered a modernizer but these foreign investments make no sense if his mind is busy planning his country's future. To whom can be Bin Salman compared? Chauchescu built a fantastic palace while Romania starved. Just now nobody else comes to my mind.

Arabia has an important industrial base operated by foreign manpower. I have seen here sacks of poliethylene produced by a Saudi Petrochemical firm. They have a large desalination industry: the capital Riyadh is supplied with desalinated water pumped from the sea over a distance of 467 km. Water is provided almost for free. The service is uncertain: in Riyadh tap water is available once every 2.5 days, while in Jeddah, every 9 days.

The Saudi army is superbly equipped but is failing in the war against barefooted Houthis. No wonder: Who would put his life in harm's way to defend Bin Salman's French palace?

P.S:  As Jews and Zionists, what should be our attitude towards the Saudi Dictator? We are a decent, democratic, humanist society. We should try to minimize our contact with these Bedouin thieves and murderers, rich as they are. We may be poorer and weaker, but we must maintain a minimum of self-respect.

Riyadh under attack

The interception was recorded and published on the net. I counted six PAC-2 Patriot missiles fired against the Burqan-2H (SCUD) ballistic missile. One Patriot destroyed it but they fired five more for the fun or as a defensive shield against the debris (they can afford it). It is rather unsettling that Al Ansar (the Houthis - pronounced Phooties - (who heard about them two years ago?), a rag head mountain gang, possess the capability of firing WMD.

Trump vetoes the world

US to UN: "It won't be forgotten."
Left: Nikki Haley. Wonder woman. Wiki: She was "always called Nikki, which means 'little one,' by her family". Father Ajit Singh Randhawa and mother Raj Kaur Randhawa, are emigrants from Amritsar District, Punjab, India.

An Israeli Engineer

In the past, I had worked with Chaim Krichly in several interesting industrial projects. I foundr him reticent which accounted for regular Ashkenazi eccentricity. Well, nobody is perfect (from "Some like it hot"). Now I have heard his story. As a member of the elite parachute battalion, at age 18 he was shot in the head. He re-trained himself and graduated and established a successful engineering studio. What most surprised me is his age: he is approaching eighty. The retirement age in Israel is 67, but no one retires ever. A role model for me.
