Recession

My favorite shares have collapsed: ZIM, the Israel Company, ICI the Potash business. I just got a phone call from the Bank that they had retired their recommendation on NVidia. Dalio says it is cyclical and will rise again. I shall wait out the recession. Musk and the economic papers say that America does have not enough PhDs in the computing fields. It cannot compete with China. I should not worry about them. 

A Good War would re-stimulate the economy.

After eight months of work on this Ramat Gan project, I received the permit. In my name. I feel that a heavy weight was lifted from my ancient back. Tomorrow I shall submit the bill.

In 1970, in Buenos Aires, I wrote down my life goals on a piece of paper and kept it in my wallet to have it always in mind. Benjamin Franklin's autobiography (Biblioteca Lincoln) inspired me. I formulated two goals: (1) family and (2) money. As an only child of penniless immigrants, I wanted a family. I had it quantified, I do not remember exactly but it was around four children. Quantifying my capital objective, I wanted to achieve a middle-class secure income. I estimated that it could be done with a capital of 100,000 dollars, which would yield about 1,000 dollars monthly income. Then it seemed like a large capital but soon I was working in Nigeria earning (and saving) 1,100 US$/month. 

52 years after I have overachieved my goals. I could stop, but then what?

NVidia Breakout

 NVidia shares rocketed 25% on the NASDAQ today. I have some, it was a good decision. I had convinced Ronit to buy some but she sold them very early. My strategy of buying and keeping is giving fruits. 

Yesterday had a family dinner at Nomi's home at Harish. She is vegetarian and I am not, which is a way of saying that I did not enjoy the food. It is nice to see my family functioning so well. 

The Machine is a Thief (but the Bank is Honest)

The ATM of Bank Hapoalim stole from us 1200 + 300 shekels. It announced that there was a false 100 shekel and closed, with the money inside. We had taken the same money from the same machine the day before. 

P.S.: The Bank deposited in my account the money, with the original date. I had no faith in them, but they proved to be honest. Good.

The Maternal Genetic Lineages of Ashkenazic Jews

This book presents up-to-date information on the origins of the Ashkenazic Jewish people from central and eastern Europe based on genetic research on modern and pre-modern populations. It focuses on the 129 maternal (mtDNA) haplogroups that the author confirmed that Ashkenazim have acquired from distinct female ancestors who were indigenous to diverse lands that include Israel, Italy, Poland, Germany, North Africa, and China, revealing both their Israelite inheritance and the lasting legacy of conversions to Judaism.

Genetic connections between Ashkenazic Jews and other Jewish populations, including Turkish Jews, Moroccan Jews, Tunisian Jews, Iranian Jews, and Cochin Jews, are indicated wherever they are known.

Each maternal haplogroup originated from a distinct woman who joined the Ashkenazic community. Some of these women were Judeans, some were Slavs, a few were Berbers, and several may have been Greeks—and those weren't their only origins.

Multiple Ashkenazic maternal and paternal haplogroups most likely came from Khazar and Alan converts to Judaism in medieval Khazaria. See the evidence on pages 7, 16-17, 52, and 85-86.

In Trance

This morning I was having a deep sexual dream - just when I was alone with the girl - got a phone call. Did not answer and set the phone on silent. Yet I woke up and was in a zombie-like trance for an hour. I followed my morning routine and measured BP and it was low - 90/68 or so. I am 77 y.o. and on xeroxat - libido only a memory. I never used to dream. I must be entering a different state, maybe.
