The Tablet magazine wondered what to do against the anti-Jew wave engulfing America. Their answer is that anything a Jew-in-the-flesh may do will not change the prejudice against the abstract imagined "Jew'. For The Tablet, fomenting a generally liberal, tolerant, open society is the best option. Soros program is, maybe, subtly good for Jews. I've done a full circle and came back to the liberal left.
Hasn't America been killing Jews with kindness though. Something like 70-80% of non-orthodox American Jews inter-marry. Arabs are Arabs, and you should be thankful for that because no Jew wants to blend in with them. Maybe they are Gods way of keeping Jews a separate, distinct people so they they don't assimilate themselves out of existence and are still here for centuries to come.
ReplyDeleteYes, agree. A moderate level of antisemitism helps us to stick together. The Arabs in Chicago made life unlivable for the Israeli in question, which turned out to be a net gain for us. But hate can easily become murderous. Not to be encouraged.
