The rebels took Aleppo. They are ISIS Sunni fanatics *versus* the Assad Alawite regime, backed by Iranian Shiite fanatics. Their leader is al-Julani meaning someone from the Golan. He is in fact a Palestinian refugee. He fought in al-Qaeda in Iraq against American occupation. Before the eruption of the Iraqi civil war in 2006, Joulani was arrested by American forces and imprisoned for over five years in various prisons and detention centers. These prisons included Abu Ghraib, Camp Bucca, Camp Cropper, and al-Tajji.There are Russian bases nearby.
Let the devil take the hindmost. Even better, take them all.
