The chaos unleashed on the world by America abandoning its responsibilities (for example, NATO and the Middle East) is being filled by China. Today the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership was signed under the aegis of Communist China. This agreement spans 15 countries and 2.2 billion people, or nearly 30% of the world's population, their combined GDP totals roughly $26 trillion and account for 28% of global trade. As Biden has noticed (see former entrée) America lost its leadership and each small tribe is making treaties with its neighbors - treaties or wars like Armenia/Azerbaijan. The trend is to Russia taking care of the Soviet area, China responsible for East Asia, Germany leading Europe. America and Britain - quo vadis?
Many are asking why muslim countries don't raise the issue of the uyghurs in china. Simmple: Uyghurs are faraway and foreign.
ReplyDeleteAnd they fail to understand that that blaspheming the prophet for muslims is a graver issue than the incarceration of some uyghurs.
Recently Pompeo removed ETIM from the terrorist list. ETIM is east turkistan independance movement, a branch of al-qaeda among the Uyghurs. The implication is clear. American secret services are giving them green light to start operations in Western China.
The Chinese don't allow any cartoons of Muhammed to be published, China is organized and the government there allows no free speech. So the policy is simple: 1) stop terrorism by any means 2) maintain military alliances with Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, etc.
These are not contradictory objectives. They understand politics very well and have built alliances with countries that American and EU heavy-handed politics has alienated.
Uyghurs are not my people and some of them fought for the Caliphate. There are many other Muslims in China.
ReplyDeleteI am just noticing how professionally and delicately China conducts politics now compared to Western countries.
