I remember when Israel conquered Beirut (pic). My colleagues in the office were lamenting that we had to do it. I was the sole dissenter who said that it was good to win wars and occupy enemy capitals. My generation are Diaspora Jews who are afraid of walking erect and winning a fight.
The Lebanese should have used their wives' fat asses, full of botox injected by French plasticians, to block the Israeli tank shells, which is better what they usually do when invaded, which is to start killing each other.
ReplyDeleteLebanon was the most advanced country in the Middle East, Beirut was almost Paris, but it self-destroyed. We understood that the best we can do is to leave it as soon as we can. Our Arab neighbors caught rabies, cannot be approached and talked to. Maybe gradually they will return to normality.
DeleteThe most advanced countries in the middle east are the Arab gulf states, and Israel. Tens of thousands of lebanese come here to work. The gulf states were only recently established compared to Iraq and Lebanon and syria which have thousands of years of history. But those thousands of years of history are all trumped by good relations with US of A and having black gold under your country. Funny how life is like that.
DeleteArmenia with ten thousand (according to them) years of history is losing the war now to Azerbaijan. They failed to train their army for 21st combat.
Beirut was Paris of middle east, I agree. Both are terrible cities.
